Jonathan Kasumba is an artist, researcher, industrial and automotive designer. He champions the practice and value proposition of industrial design in Africa, celebrating unique design traditions perfected by a multitude of diverse cultures, having been passed down through generations, forming the root of African design.  His nurtured empathy for his clients through contextual observation and building confidence in the process to a developing solution.   

From cars to buses, motorcycles to bicycles, electronics to watches, furniture and architecture are the range of projects he has been involved in. His process involves, drawing,  model making,  animation and experimenting with new technologies for presentation. 

His commitment and passion to empower Africa's future designers is demonstrated through the organization he help create, namely the  African Automotive Design Association (AADA).  An non-profit,  think tank of designers and enthusiasts advocating the operation of industrial and automotive design in Africa.
